Kebun Baru Constituency was carved from the now-defunct Ang Mo Kio Single Member Constituency (then known as Ang Mo Kio Constituency) in 1980. It was helmed by

throughout its first 11 years of existence. In 1988, it was renamed as Kebun Baru Single Member Constituency with the creation of Group Representation Constituencies (GRCs). It was absorbed into the new
