In the United States, "Just a Little While" quickly became the most added and played song on pop radio formats upon its release. Its airplay increased over 500% in contrast to airplays before its official release and achieved "sizeable" downloads. It debuted at number 47 on the week dated February 21, 2004, on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 chart, becoming the "hot shot debut" of the week. The next week, the track reached its peak of number 45, where it stayed for two weeks. The song became Jackson's lowest peaking single on the chart since " Come Give Your Love to Me" (1983).
