. In 1672 he translated the philosophical novel ''Het leeven van Hai Ebn Yokdhan'', based on an earlier Latin translation by Edward Pococke, and published in Amsterdam by Jan Rieuwertsz. Bouwmeester was also involved in the publication of Spinoza's works.
