Biography

Vanthienen received MA in applied economics and computer science at the Leuven University in 1979, and a PhD in applied economics at the Department of Applied Economics, Leuven University, in 1986.Curriculum Vitae - Jan Vanthienen

He started working as a researcher at the Leuven University in 1979, where he became an associate professor in 1987, a professor in 1994, and a full professor in 1996. At the moment, in 2009, he is chairholder of the PricewaterhouseCoopers Chair on E-Business at KU Leuven and co-chairholder of the Microsoft Research Chair on Intelligent Environments.
