Plot
The story follows Raghav Pandit, an aspiring screenwriter working for
Tips Films, is tasked with crafting a compelling romantic story. His boss pressures him to complete the script promptly, warning that failure to do so could jeopardize his position. Pressured by his boss to meet a looming deadline, he says that he is writing a film's story which draws inspiration from his own life. This premise sets the stage for Raghav to revisit the emotional journey he experienced over the past year with his closest friends.
The narrative then shifts to Raghav's hometown in
Dehradun

, where he shared a close bond with his childhood friends, Sanya and Sahir. The trio had been inseparable through their school years. As they transition into adulthood when they were in college, the dynamics among them evolve. Sanya and Sahir, once platonic companions, embark on a romantic relationship. Raghav also entered into a relationship with Riya Mathur, a socially conscious college student, and a green activist.
Although Raghav is with Riya, much of his emotional energy is consumed by Sanya and Sahir's volatile relationship. Constantly caught between their fights, he acts as a mediator between them—often at the cost of his own romantic happiness. One day when Riya and Raghav began to kiss, he gets a call from Sanya, that she's breaking up with Sahir. Riya grows frustrated with Raghav’s emotional unavailability and eventually breaks up with him, accusing him of being more invested in his friends than in their relationship.
After this Raghav went to Sanya, to resolve Sanya and Sahir's relationship. But Sanya explains him that her and Sahir's relationship felled apart, driven by unresolved differences and pressure from Sahir’s conservative family and Raghav also can't make them up this time. Sahir returns all gifts given to him by Sanya through Raghav. Sanya also asks Raghav to bring him back that dog which she gifted to Sahir, when they were in relationship. Nevertheless, Raghav goes to Sahir's home and steals the dog and give it back to Sanya. Sanya then spontaneously kisses Raghav, much to confusion and anxiety of Raghav as this would distort their relationship as friends and even Sanya was girlfriend of his best friend Sahir.
A day after, Sanya calls Raghav, but he didn't receive her call as he was anxious to talk to her. Since, he was feeling guilty, he decided to tell the truth to Sahir, but he chose not to tell anything about the incident to Sahir, as he thinks about how he will react to it. Sahir calls Raghav to meet him the following day. Raghav thought that Sahir got to know about his and Sanya's kiss, but Sahir confronted him that he got to know through CCTV cameras of his house, and better he should not come to his house as Sahir's family had got to know that it was Raghav who stole the dog from his house as over a period of time they had developed an attachment with the dog. After hearing this, Raghav breathed a sigh of relief that at least Sahir didn't find out about his and Sanya's kiss. Sahir gives him a ticket of a trip originally planned for him and Sanya. When Raghav goes to Sanya, to return the ticket, she invites Raghav to the trip. During the journey, Raghav and Sanya grow closer, sharing their vulnerabilities and seeking solace in each other's company. Their bond culminates in a spontaneous kiss, marking the beginning of a rebound relationship. One night, on the remote location where they were staying, catches fire and the group in order to save themselves leaves, but mistakenly leaves Raghav alone there. When Raghav gets to know about this, he got so scared that he began to think he'll die. He nervously sends a voice message to Riya that he still loves her. But when Sanya realizes that Raghav is left behind, she comes back to save him and eventually hugs him and also propose to him. Raghav who had also started harboring feelings for Sanya during their vacations, accepts her proposal and kiss her.
After they came back from their trip, Sanya plans a special date with Raghav, but Sahir also comes to Sanya's home with Raghav much to her disappointment. Sahir invites Sanya and his mother to his sister's wedding. Still Sanya went with Raghav on their date, where they spent good time together. Now when they were shopping for Sahir's sister's wedding, Sanya remembers some urgent work and went and asks Raghav to pay the bill. But when his card declines, Riya comes there and pay his bill. From their conversation, Raghav gets to know that Riya still loves her as she was unable to move on from him. Sanya calls Raghav and asks him to tell the truth about their relationship to Sahir as he is their best friend. Raghav says that he'll surely tell everything to Sahir on his sister's sangeet ceremony.
At Sahir's sister's sangeet ceremony, Raghav still feels anxious about telling the truth to Sahir. Before Raghav can say anything, Sahir says that he still harbors feelings for Sanya and still loves her. When they all were dancing, Sahir eventually tries to kiss Sanya, and out of protest she pushes him away, and he fell on the ground. She tells the truth to Sahir about her and Raghav's relationship. Sahir becomes infuriated at Raghav for hiding the truth form him. Riya also confronts Raghav that if he was already in a relationship with Sanya, then why he sent voice message to her. Raghav becomes emotionally furious after listening to their allegations on him, and confronted Sahir and told him that he was the one who is always sandwiched between the complex relationship of Sanya and Sahir, the aftermath of which, led to his own breakup with Riya, and they even do not cared about his breakup. He also confronted Riya and told him that she had end her relationship with him, earlier and even not talked him about the incident in which he was not at fault. Raghav told everyone that their friendship was going smooth, but it has been destroyed all because of love and relationships. And now he don't want either love or friendship. Confused and emotionally exhausted, Raghav decides to distance himself from everyone and moves to

The movie now shifts to present where in Mumbai, where Raghav throws himself into finishing the screenplay based on his tangled relationships. His boss insists the story must have a satisfying ending, warning that without it, the film will flop. He struggles with the ending, still unsure how to bring closure to the story—or his real-life emotions. He hadn't had any contact with his friends for the past one year and even don't what was going in the life of Sanya, Sahir and Riya. Confused, he decides to end the movie's story where Raghav will ask Riya for forgiveness and will tell her that he still loves her. When he tells the story's ending to his boss, she liked it and the shooting for the movie starts.
One day, Sahir's sister calls Raghav and informs him about Sahir's accident. Hearing of Sahir's accident, Raghav immediately comes back to Dehradun to meet him, where he learns that Sahir has not met any accident, but he has been beaten up violently by his father, only because he couldn't fulfill his dream of joining the

. Raghav confronts Sahir's dad about this, where Sahir's dad began to beat Raghav. Seeing this, Sahir infuriated, intervenes and confronts his father for the first time ever in life and stop his dad and tell him that he can't beat his friend like that and moreover he will not bear any torture inflicted by his dad upon him in future. Saying this, he left the place with Raghav. Sahir apologizes for all what happened and again befriends him. Sahir also prompts him to reconnect with Sanya, and when they visit her, she is emotionally unsettled by his sudden reappearance. She had not expected to see him again after such a long absence and is unsure of her feelings. She said they are good as friends, and she doesn't want any problem in her life because of any relationship and shuts the door. From outside, Raghav told her, that he was confused earlier about whether he was doing right or wrong. But now he is clear that he only loves Sanya. Saying this, Raghav returns back to Mumbai to work on the upcoming film whose story was written by him.
On the last day of shooting of the film, Raghav receives a call from Sahir, and also he gets to know that now Sahir works in Sanya's mother café having embraced a simpler, more grounded life. Raghav asks him about Sanya, to which Sahir informed Raghav that Sanya had gone out somewhere. Upon hearing this, Raghav suspects that Sanya might not want to speak with him, and that Sahir is merely making an excuse on her behalf. Just then, Sanya appears before Raghav. In truth, Sanya still loved Raghav and was unable to live without him. Seeing her, Raghav is overjoyed and finally reunites with his true love. As they are about to leave together, Sanya discovers that in the script of the film Raghav had written, he had concluded the story with his past relationship with Riya. Amused by this revelation, Sanya begins to laugh — and with that heartfelt moment, the movie draws to a close.
