His wife wrote ''The Flowers of Hiroshima'' (1959) which exposed the aftereffects of the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. They founded the Edita and Ira Morris Hiroshima Foundation for Peace and Culture which assisted victims of the bombings.
