. The students of Medicine and Pharmacy studied at the main facility until 1961, when the Faculty of Pharmacy relocated to "Nam Ki Khoi Nghia Street." On November 16, 1966, the school moved to the Medicine Learning Center on Hong Bang Street, District 5. This facility, equipped with modern amenities, has served as an educational venue for medical and dental students. The center includes a main auditorium with 500 seats, three additional 300-seat auditoriums, a library, and laboratory facilities. On October 27, 1976, the government reorganized the schools at Saigon University Institute to create eight schools, which included the University of Medicine and Pharmacy at Ho Chi Minh City. It's new name, though not explicitly mentioning the dental school, has been officially used since 1976. Following 1990, the university and the Ministry of Health established additional faculties and one hospital: * 1994: Faculty of Fundamental Sciences * 1998: Faculty of Traditional Medicine and Faculty of Medical Technology and Rehabilitation (original name: Medicine Technique and Convalescent Faculty) * 1999: Faculty of Public Health * 2000: University Medical Center
