Berthoud was born in
Neuchâtel

Raymonde Berthoud, brother-in-law of
Louis Perrier, and son-in-law of
Louis-Daniel Perrier.
Berthoud studied at the
École supérieure de commerce of Neuchâtel along with scientific studies and earned a
Ph.D.
