On 11 April 2016, the construction of the new stadium was officially started. It is expected that the construction will be finished by July 2017. By 25 October 2016 the construction of the eastern and the northern stands was completed. The cost of the inauguration ceremony will be 30 million HUF. On 13 October 2017, Haladás Sportkomplexum Fejlesztő Nonprofit Kft announced that the new stadium would be opened on 8 November 2017. It was also pointed out that the new stadium was one of the biggest infrastructure improvements in the region during the previous 20 years .
