Scandal

In 2019, the Chief Magistrate Court ordered the arrest of Aliyu for failing to appear in court to address allegations made against her by her colleague, Mustapha Naburaska. In late 2022, Aliyu was also accused of breaking a promise she allegedly made to a man named Bala Musa, a civil servant in his late forties. He claimed that they had agreed to marry after he spent ₦396,000 on her, but she ultimately refused. Aliyu later stated that she did not know the man at all. Aliyu has never been married. The child previously rumoured to be her daughter has been confirmed to be her niece—the daughter of her sister, Maryam Gabon.
