of many of the Pezizales showed the genus ''Gyromitra'' to be most closely related to the genus '' Discina'', and also '' Pseudorhizina'', '' Hydnotrya'', and only distantly related to '' Helvella''. Thus the four genera are now included in the family Discinaceae.
