In August 2013, Gibeon Constituency lost the western part of its territory, which became a constituency of its own, namely Daweb Constituency. the constituency had 3,951 registered voters.

Gibeon Constituency is traditionally a stronghold of the

(SWAPO) party. In the 2004 regional election, SWAPO candidate Karl Kisting received 1,769 of the 3,145 votes cast and became councillor. The 2015 regional elections were won by Jeremias van Neel of
