''Filatopus'' is a genus of
flies in the family
Dolichopodidae. It is known from
New Zealand and
Argentina.
The genus was originally known as ''Nematopus'', named by
Octave Parent Abbé Octave Parent (15 June 1882, in Trescault – 9 February 1942, in Ambleteuse) was a French entomologist who specialized in Diptera, mostly the family Dolichopodidae. He became director of the Biological Station, Ambleteuse.

in 1933. Later,
David Miller found the name to be preoccupied by ''Nematopus'' (Berthold, 1827), and renamed it to ''Filatopus'' in 1945.
