History

On 5 March 2025, FIFA announced the introduction of the Women's Champions Cup as part of its commitment to enhance women's club football globally. The inaugural tournament is scheduled for 2026, marking a significant milestone in providing a global platform for women's club teams to compete at the highest level.


Format

The competition involves six teams, each representing one of FIFA's continental confederations. In the inaugural competition the semi-finals and final will be played at a neutral venue, and structured as follows: * Round 1: The champions of the AFC Women's Champions League hosts the champions of the OFC Women's Champions League. * Round 2: The champions of the
