The plant genus ''Vieillardia'' was named in his honor by Jean Xavier Hyacinthe Montrouzier in 1860. More than 35 botanical species bear his name, a few examples being: '' Nepenthes vieillardii'', '' Tristaniopsis vieillardii'', '' Microsorum vieillardii'' and '' Dacrycarpus vieillardii''.
