He was released in March 1985 and was a book seller and, in May 1985, he started working at the Promopes fishing company. After being released, in 1985, he returned to political and social militancy and from 1987 he joined the MLN-T Central Committee. He was one of the co-founders of the Movement of Popular Participacion (MPP).
