He worked as Dean of the Graduate School of Mission, Ministry, and Leadership, as well as Professor, Church, Mission, and Evangelism at Wheaton College and Executive Director of the Billy Graham Center at Wheaton. He has also served as Director of Research and Missiologist-In-Residence for the North American Mission Board.
