Dulliken is first mentioned in 924 as ''Tullinchova''. In 1173 it was mentioned as ''Tullichon''.

Power and water infrastructure as well as other special developed areas made up 2.6% of the area Out of the forested land, 31.7% of the total land area is heavily forested and 1.5% is covered with orchards or small clusters of trees. Of the agricultural land, 20.1% is used for growing crops and 16.8% is pastures, while 1.5% is used for orchards or vine crops. All the water in the municipality is flowing water. The municipality is located in the Olten district, on the northern slope of Engelberg mountain. It consists of the village of Dulliken, the settlement of Schachen and farm houses on the mountain.
