In his youth, he studied under Avrohom Yeshaya Karelitz as well as at the yeshivot of Ponevezh Yeshiva, Ponevezh and Hebron Yeshiva, Hebron. Views

An Anti-Zionism, anti-Zionist, Lando has characterized Zionism as "a movement whose purpose is to establish the Jewish people on an explicitly secular foundation, rooted in heresy and rebellion against divine sovereignty." He has written that involvement in Zionist institutions such as the World Zionist Organization leads to the "Chillul hashem, desecration of God's name."
