Career
Debbarma was born in a most backward tribal village at Maharani of
Kamalpur sub-division.
He was plunged into
Janasiksha Movement initiated by
Dasarath Deb during king's rule. In 1950 he became a member of
Communist Party of India, he was the state council member of the party since its formation in the state.
He was one of the founder members of
Tripura Rajya Upajati Ganamukti Parishad in 1948. In the
1964 split in the party, he sided with the
Communist Party of India (Marxist)
