2022-present: Career stoppage

On March 15, 2022, Deng Lun was fined US$16.6 million for tax evasion, for which he issued an apology on Weibo. His private and official social media accounts were subsequently closed. Thereafter, he shifted his focus to the hotpot business Fireroom, which he co-founded with childhood friend Guo Jiaxi in 2020.
