Debjani Modak

Debjani Modak () (born 20 March 1996) is an Indian film & Television actress who predominately works in Bengali films and Television & worked in Tamil, Telugu Tele Serials. She is known for playing Rasaathi in '' Rasaathi'' and Dr. Pandithaaradhyula Vedashwini in ''Ennenno Janmala Bandham''.

Early life

Debjani Modak was born into a Bengali Hindu family. Her father is a Businessman while her mother is a homemaker. Until class V, She did her schooling at '' St.Johns Diocesan Girls Higher Secondary School'', Kolkata and then she studied in a boarding schoo

, Kurseong near Darjeeling and later completed her XII'th standard(commerce stream) at ''B.D.M International'' in Kolkata ''West Bengal''. She couldn't continue her studies further as she stepped into acting career at a very young age, hence, she had done her BA English Hon's correspondence.

Early career

With her Parents approval, In the year 2012, Debjani Initially started shooting for a Bengali TV serial, but unfortunately the project got shelved and later on, one of the assistant directors who worked for this serial referred her to the film Director Rajib Chatterjee, who was looking out for someone with the girl-next-door charm and after auditioning several aspirants, They liked Kinni to be perfect for the role and that's how her actual debut began with a film Knockout (2013). The film released on November 29, 2013. She was seventeen at the time.

She worked in Two other Bengali films before stepping into Bengali TV serials.

Television career

In the year 2015, She made her Television debut with Bengali Serial Aponjon on Colors Bangla, she played the role of Antara. This show was produced by Surinder Films and directed by Manish Ghosh.

She also acted in few other Television serials like Phoolmoni(Zee Bangla) as Madhabi Debroy, Bhakter Bhogobaan Shri Krishna (Star Jalsa) as Draupadi,''Om Namah Shivay'' (Star Jalsa) as Devi Saraswati,Kundu Phooler Mala as Kinni, Kunjochaya (Star Jalsa) as Sejhoti, Thakurmar Jhuli as ‘ Raj Kangana onnarupa’ Mahalaya(Zee Bangla) as Devi Annapurna and Mahalaya (Star Jalsha) as Devi Dakshayani Sati.

In Year 2020, Sun TV has invited her to be part of a Tamil project and that is how She made her Tamil Television debut with Serial '' Rasaathi''. She replaced in the role of Rasaathi which is earlier played by Pavani Reddy and one after the other the work followed.

In the same year, she acted in the serial ''Vanathai Pola'' playing a crucial role as Sandhiya in the drama. She was paired opposite Thaman Kumar and Later Sreekumar Ganesh when the former announced his exit for the reasons unknown.

In 2021, Debjani announced her Telugu debut with serial ''Ennenno Janmala Bandham'' which aired on Star Maa.

In April 2023, Debjani Modak Quits ''Vanathai Pola''.

Modak's first language is Bengali and she is fluent in Hindi, English & Telugu. She can manage Tamil.
