. The village used to be known as Midlaarderveen as well. De Groeve was home to 99 people in 1840. The polder mill Boezemvriend was built in 1871. In 1934, an electric motor was installed, and the wind mill started to decay. The outside was restored between 1962 and 1963, however it was unable to function. In 1990, it was restored on the inside. In 1955, the
