David Edmund Burton-Sampson is a British Labour Party politician who has been the Member of Parliament for Southend West and Leigh since 2024.


Political career

Burton-Sampson was deputy leader of the Labour Group on Basildon council. He unseated the Conservative MP Anna Firth, who had won the seat in an uncontested by-election after the murder of longtime MP Sir David Amess in October 2021. In November 2024, Burton-Sampson voted in favour of the Terminally Ill Adults (End of Life) Bill, which proposes to legalise
