2017–18, Paille posted 5 points in 14 appearances to begin the campaign before his career was effectively ended through injury, after receiving a blindside hit from

Adler Mannheim, on November 8, 2017. After suffering three earlier concussions from his tenure in the NHL, Paille was ruled out from the remainder of the season and returned to North America.

Andre Deveaux and
Matt Ellis. He admired
Steve Yzerman when he was growing up. In 2009, Paille married his longtime girlfriend, Dana Goretsas.
