Personal life and death

Lanken was married to singer-songwriter Anna McGarrigle, and had appeared as a vocalist on several of her albums with her sister Kate McGarrigle. McGarrigle and Lanken had two children, Lily Lanken and Sylvan Lanken, and lived near the
