He made four appearances in the 2009–10 season as Darlington were relegated to the Conference. After this, Burn returned to the academy to further his development before being recalled to the first team by manager Mark Cooper, where he made his first appearance of the 2010–11 season, in a 3–1 win against Barrow on 3 January 2011.
