Neron Misslin, a classroom teacher motivated by her experiences in public education, first ran for office and was elected in 2018, defeating the Republican incumbent and becoming the first Democrat to represent Oregon's House District 26, as drawn. She was re-elected in 2020, 2022, and 2024 and was elected to her fourth 2-year term in the
