While in college, DeAngelis appeared in several gay pornographic movies under the name Seth Rose. In 2024, reflecting on the experience, he said, he was "lured" into the industry, and that he was "not proud of" being an adult actor, calling it "embarrassing". DeAngelis was an adjunct scholar at the
