University of Chambéry and from 1983 to 1997 professor at the University of Caen. She was responsible for the Fundamental Rights Research Department. Since 1997 she has been professor at the University Robert Schumann of
Strasbourg. In the period from 1998 to 2000, she was Director of the Institute of Comparative Law. She is a member of the
Institut de recherche Carré de Malberg (IRCM) and was the Head of IRCM.
She published a number of books and scientific articles from the field of

In addition she was a member of the executive committee of the Association française des constitutionnalistes (AFDC) and of the Societas iuris publici europaei (SIPE). She was also a member of the Editorial Advisory Board of the Law Journal EuGRZ (Europäische Grundrechte Zeitschrift) and an expert at the Council of Europe.
