Gilles Deleuze ("Beware of the dreams of others, because if you are caught in their dream, you are done for"), made him take the letter and the prologue one step further and to imagine a girl's psyche. It also inspired him to do exactly the opposite of what Deleuze says: "Let us be caught in the dream of the other and see what happens", Bonello said.
In an interview conducted in July 2022, Bonello said he does not rule out giving a sequel to ''Coma''.
