. He left the University after one year and then earned a teaching certificate from the Saskatoon Normal School. Willis taught school from 1931 to 1944. He was rejected from serving in the military for health reasons and began farming. Willis served as a trustee for the Melfort Larger School Unit from 1945 to 1951 and was president of the Melfort Agricultural Society from 1948 to 1951. He was a member of the provincial cabinet, serving as Minister of Public Works and then as Minister of Highways and Transportation. Willis resigned his seat in the provincial assembly in 1970 for health reasons. He retired to
