Chris was born to Nancy Boyd (née Aros, formerly Tsagakis), a florist; and Mike Tsagakis, a landscaper. He is of Greek and white heritage. He has two younger siblings: Jonny Tsagakis, former member of

, and Gabriel Tsagakis. Chris attended
