, on January 4, 1838, to Thomas Haight, later a Democratic nominee for governor of New Jersey in 1847. He attended private schools in Freehold, New Jersey, and graduated from

in 1857. He studied law, was admitted to the bar in 1861 and commenced practice in Freehold.

Haight was a member of the

Haight was the uncle to Judge

. Haight died in Freehold on August 1, 1891. He was interred in Maplewood Cemetery in Freehold.
