Domestic career

Carmichael was influenced by his brother and father, while playing backyard cricket matches. He captained the under-13 A for KwaZulu-Natal in 2015 and received two Cricket South Africa awards for his batting during the Inter Provincial tournament. In 2016, he was awarded Kwa-Zulu Natal Cricket Union (KZNCU) Under-13 Player of the Year award as he scored the fifth highest runs in the season and for his captaincy. He also represents under-17 and under-19 team of KwaZulu-Natal side. He was selected for the South African Under-17 regional camp in July 2018. On 7 October 2019, he played for

He scored his maiden century in first-class cricket against Afghanistan A on 9 April 2025. In 2025 while playing for Instonians, he opened the batting for the first time since his school days. He usually bats at the middle order.


International career
