The Cache Discovery Protocol was originally developed jointly by
BitTorrent, Inc. and
CacheLogic and first implemented in version 4.20 of the
official BitTorrent client, released June 22, 2006. However, despite claims that the details of the protocol would be published, to date no specification has been made publicly available.
