Professional career

In 1966, Summerhays turned professional. He spent his regular career competing in mainly local events, but as a senior he has competed successfully on the
Champions Tour PGA Tour Champions (formerly the Senior PGA Tour and the Champions Tour) is a men's professional senior golf tour, open to golfers age 50 and over, administered as a branch of the PGA Tour. History and format The Senior PGA Championship, f ...
. He has won three Champions Tour events and earned over $9 million in prize money.
