Acrantophis'' and ''
Sanzinia'' were erroneously synonymized with the genus ''
Boa'' by Kluge in 1991.
These have now been transferred to the resurrected subfamily

Candoia ''has similarly been transferred to its own subfamily, Candoiinae.
