included a description of the blue-naped parrot in his ''Ornithologie'' based on a specimen collected on the island of

in the Philippines. He used the French name ''Le perroquet de l'Isle de Luçon'' and the Latin name ''Psittacus lucionensis''. The two stars (**) at the start of the section indicates that Brisson based his description on the examination of a specimen. Although Brisson coined Latin names, these do not conform to the
