''. After the recording of ''The Principle of Evil Made Flesh'', both the Ryan brothers and bandmate Paul Allender left Cradle of Filth and formed cult metal band The Blood Divine. The Blood Divine recorded two studio albums and toured extensively for three years, building a following during the time they were together until 1998 when the band split-up. Ryan went on to work as a session musician and sound engineer during which time he worked briefly in Yorkshire with guitarist Rishi Mehta. In 2001, Ryan spent a period as a freelance web developer, but has since returned to working as a musician and sound engineer.
