In Northern Sami language it could also mean ''newer fur'' as it was of young reindeer calves, which are themselves called ''peschki'' in some dialects. The Norwegian word for ''beaska'' is ''pesk''. The Sami people also use the word ''muoddá'' (In Swedish: ''mudd'').
