, had succeeded to the estates of his kinsman Arthur Hill-Trevor, 3rd Viscount Dungannon (see the Viscount Dungannon) in 1862 and had assumed by Royal licence the additional surname of Trevor. In 1880 he was raised to the peerage as Baron Trevor, of Brynkinalt in the County of Denbigh. He was succeeded by his son, the second Baron. He was Vice-Lieutenant of Denbighshire. On his death in 1923 the title passed to his half-brother, the third Baron. the title is held by the latter's grandson, the fifth Baron, who succeeded his father in 1997.
