Etymology

The word ''bahnar'' is similar to () in the

, which means ''mountain''. The Bahnar have many names, such as Bonom, Jolong, Rongao, Tolo, Kriem, Roh, Konkodeh, Golar, and others.

The Haroi people, who are currently considered a sub-ethnic of the
