Umrao Dutt Sharma(also known as Umrao Dutt Ved) was a Vaidya by profession and also a member of the freedom fighter from Baghpat in Indian Independence Movement. Umrao Dutt Sharma was highly respected and dominance in the Baghpat and Baraut constituencies areas at that time in politics. Umrao Dutt Sharma (also known as Umrao Dutt Ved) retired from active politics in 1957 after completing his 5 year tenure as Member of Legislative Assembly from Baraut, but his political dominance in the Baghpat area continued till 1977. The people of Baghpat constituency continued to elect the candidates which was supported by him. With Umrao Dutt Sharma support, In 1967 Raghuvir Singh Shastri who was Independent Candidate won the election and become the 1st Member of Parliament from Baghpat. In 1971,
