As mentioned in Hazara Gazetteer 1883, page no 74 that Pakhli is the country of Swatis which is named after Sultan Pakhal Swati. One the same page, It is mentioned that Upper Pakhli belongs to Gabri Swatis which consists of 8 families i.e Jahangiri, Arghushal Malkal, Khankhail, Sarkheli, Panjhol, Panjmeral and Aznali Mandravi while the lower Pakhli belongs to Mitravi-Mumali Swatis. All areas of Pakhli have their own Khans/Chiefs who belongs to Swati tribe only. Khan of Bogarmang and Sachan belongs to Jahangiri family of Gabris. Khans of Dhodial belongs to Arghushal Malkal family of Gbaris. Khan of Baffa city belongs to Sarkheli family of Gabris. Khans of Sum belong to Khankhail family of Gabris. Khans of Icherian belong to Aznali Mandravi families of Gabris.
