After taking over the post of editor in chief, al-Yāziǧī changed it into an encyclopedic educational publication that now bore the subtitle ''Maǧalla ṭibbīya ʿilmīya ṣināʿīya'' and was guided by the examples of '' Al-Jinan'' and '' Al-Muqtataf''.
