''Asaveri'' is an asymmetric, bhashaga rāgam (has foreign notes) that does not contain ''gandharam'' and ''nishadam'' in the ascending scale. It is an ''audava-vakra-sampurna'' rāgam (or ''owdava'' rāgam, meaning pentatonic ascending scale).
