Toponymy
The village was known as ''Nerkin Aluchalu'' and ''Alichali'' until 1968, rendered as ''Nizhniy Aluchalu'' in Russian.
History
The village was founded in 1829-30 by migrants from
Alashkert, in present-day
Eastern Turkey.
