Aguirre earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from theCareer
Aguirre has served as a consultant for various institutions, including Simbahang Lingkod ng Bayan, the Legal Network for Truthful Elections (LENTE), the Senate of the Philippines, and the House of Representatives of the Philippines. He is also a research fellow at the Ateneo School of Government for the ACCESS Bangsamoro Project. He is an active member of academic organizations such as the American Political Science Association (APSA), Midwest Political Science Association (MPSA), Political Studies Association (PSA-UK), International Political Science Association (IPSA), and Philippine Political Science Association (PPSA). He is also an associate member of the National Research Council of the Philippines (NRCP). From 2017 to 2019, Aguirre served as the director of the Ateneo Martial Law Museum.
