Early life

Kaminski was born in 1950 in eastern Russia, but his family was of Ukrainian-Polish descent. His family moved to the

Kaminski's first political office was as a member of the council of the city of

In the first round of elections, he received 26.48% of the vote, narrowly making it into the second round of voting.
